Things to do, gifts and celebrations at AviaSim Washington D.C.

Looking for indoor things to do near Washington, D.C.?

Ride the Red Line to Rockville and AviaSim Washington D.C. is a block and a half from the station: a flight simulator where you fly a full-size Airbus A320 cockpit replica yourself, with an instructor alongside and no prior experience.

It operates inside the Cambria Hotel Rockville, easy to reach from Bethesda, Gaithersburg or downtown Washington. Booking is open daily, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., whether it's a muggy summer afternoon or a gray winter weekend. Request the River Visual into Reagan National and you'll follow the Potomac past the monuments, one of the best-known approaches in the country. Three guests can sit behind you and watch it happen.

Looking for an experience gift in Washington, D.C.?

Around the capital, a flight simulator session at AviaSim Washington D.C. tends to delight two kinds of people: those who have walked through the Air and Space Museum a dozen times, and those who have flown for real, like a grandfather who served in the Air Force.

Add new Georgetown or Maryland graduates and teens who watch jets descend over the Potomac. They take the A320 controls with an instructor guiding them. Ordering is quick, needs no recipient details, and sends a boarding pass straight to your email without any name or price, valid for three years. The Washington D.C. center is your only selection.

Celebrating a birthday or a date night near Washington, D.C.?

For couples, the Duo Package at AviaSim Washington D.C. means one A320, two pilots and a seat swap partway through, followed by dinner at the Cambria's own restaurant or a short stroll to Rockville Town Square.

Flights continue until 10 p.m. Birthdays work in sequence: reserve consecutive sessions so the guest of honor and their friends each fly, whether it's a 12th birthday or a 50th, while the rest watch from the back bench. No age minimum is enforced; at roughly 3 ft 7 in, kids can see over the panel. Teens weighing a pilot career can begin with the Pilot Introductory Program.
